So things have been pretty busy around here. Wedding season is in full swing and my girlies are changing and growing in leaps and bounds. Miss E is now officially in that terrible two stage. Defiant doesn’t even begin to explain it. Her vocabulary and memory astounds me every day. She speaks at a 3 year old level, we have mastered colors, shapes, numbers, the alphabet, and her full name. The way she says Rosenberger is the cutest thing I have ever heard.

Miss N is now 7 months old and has been hitting her milestones like crazy! She is officially out of her collic and things around here have calmed down and we have developed a routine. She is the smiliest happiest baby you have ever seen. You’d never know that she screamed her head off for the first 6 months of her life. In the past 2 weeks Miss N has learned to crawl, gotten her first tooth, has begun pulling herself up, and has almost mastered sitting up on her own. Thats alot of hard work for a little one.

Admits all of this excitement I have opened an Etsy Shop. It will be all things crafty and photographic. Right now I have some baby headbands and hair clippies up. I plan on putting up some fine art prints and knitted photo props as well. Check it out I would love to hear what you think. Miss N was kind enough to model the headbands for me. Here are a few of my favorite shots from out fashion shoot. http://www.etsy.com/shop/atgphotography

I have had so many people ask me how I make my own butter so as promised here you go. It really is quite an easy process and a great workout too!

What you will need:

An empty jar (I use a mason jar but an old mayo jar will work fine. You just have to make sure it wont leak), Heavy whipping cream, salt, a bowl, a spatula, a smaller jar

1. Let the heavy Whipping cream stan at room temperature until it is about 65 degrees, I usually let mine stand for about 20 min

2. Pour the whipping cream into your jar until it is about 1/2 full and put the lid on tightly.

3. Now shake, and shake, and shake. After about 5 min or so the cream will begin to get frothy like this:

4. Keep shaking. As the cream begins to take on more and more air you will reach a point when you no longer feel the whipping cream sloshing around in the jar and the sides are completely coated. Congratulations you have made whipped cream.

5. Shake some more. It will feel like nothing is happening but believe me the next part goes pretty fast. As you are shaking the butter solids start separating from the butter milk. You will soon see the solids start to slide away from the sides of the jar.

6. Keep shaking were almost there! You will see a beautiful lump of butter start to form. Shake for about 5 min after your butter forms to make sure you have completely removed all the solids from the butter milk. This is what it looks like when finished.

7. Next pour off the butter milk into a small jar or container. You want to save this. Add it to scrambled eggs or pancake batter for the most ridiculous fluffy eggs and pancakes you have ever had.

8. Now you can get out your bowl and pour the butter into it.

9. Under cold water you are going to wash the butter. I usually rinse it first then fill the bowl with water. Take your spatula and fold the butter. Your water will turn white. Dump the water and repeat the process until you have removed all the butter milk and the water stays clear.

10. Once the water is clear you can dump it. I then mix the butter in the bowl and remove as much water from the butter that may have gotten trapped when it was being rinsed. You can add salt to your butter, I find a couple of shakes (2-3) is perfect but I guess it depends on your taste. Transfer your butter to a Tupperware container and put in the fridge. The butter will harden and Voila you have fresh homemade butter. Enjoy!

I am so behind in my scrapping it’s crazy. I put together this page this morning just for a little fun. I used a quick-page from paisley press. Check out her blog, I love the simplicity of her designs. My in-laws have an apple orchard in Vermont. Every year starting at the end of August they go up on the weekends to pick apples then bring them back to PA to sell them at their road side stand. Every day Evie and I take a walk to visit the apples. She is obsessed with them. We always pick one to eat while we walk. I will send this page to be printed as a 12×12 print at my lab and finish it by adding some dimensional stickers and chipboard embellishments.

As many of you know I love to scrapbook. I am a hybrid scrapper using both Traditional and digital methods combined. I never print my images at home, I always send them to a lab to be printed. I need the real thing no computer printout will do. I signed up for a free scrap-booking class at http://www.jessicasprague.com . I simply adore her site. She has so many classes on scrapping both traditional and hybrid methods. It is a great inspiration even if your Just getting Started. The class I am taking is all about recording your holidays and getting to what they really mean to you. I think this is a great, with Andy and I starting our family and having 2 little ones around the house it is a perfect opportunity for us to reflect on the memories and traditions we want to instill on our children. Everyday we have have a journaling topic and a photographic assignment. What a great way to keep from getting rusty in the slow season. I thought it would be fun to post my project along the way. I cant guarantee I will get every day done and up on the blog but I will try. Here is a sneak peek of our first assignment.
